Good Morning Monday!!

Brrr. It is still so cold. I celebrated the cold yesterday by making a great pot of soup!!! It was a warm, creamy & chunky potato soup requested by my little lady. After our soup we climbed into bed and watched EMMA on Masterpiece Theater. I loved it & so did she. I'm very excited about the upcoming Austen novels that they will be showing. In honor of winter & trying to find something to like about her (other than Christmas, my son's birthday & fresh snow) here is a favorite poem that I love to read each winter.

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

BY ROBERT FROST

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep.
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

**I should mention I also love hot chocolate with peppermint sticks that only seem appropriate in winter :)

  1. I'm glad that you had a cozy weekend. I like that poem. We read that one last month ourselves. I like thinking of a horse with harness bells in the winter woods. Can't you just see its breath? See you tonight!
